The percipient church member would remember the church sign saying two weeks ago. For many of us, we just pass by the church and do not give a second glance to what the sign says. This last Sabbath, there was an announcement for the service in Yantis Park and the incredible concert we were blessed with, the Keepers of the Faith. But on the previous week, there was a saying that got me thinking...
It said the following, "Jesus - No roaming charges. No lost calls. Unlimited minutes!" It was a humorous attempt to cause our community to think on the omnipotent power of our Master. But, have you given thought to how profound that humorous statement is? Think about it...are you done thinking? How does Jesus make Himself available for everyone, everyday, and in every way?
My daughter asked a very thought provoking question yesterday..."How is Jesus going to spend time with everyone when we get to heaven?" "How? I don't know...not really. And how does Jesus make Himself available to everyone everyday today? The only way I know of is through the power of prayer." Ellen White shared this thought...
"All over the world men and women are looking wistfully to heaven. Prayer and tears and inquires go up from souls longing for light, for grace, for the Holy Spirit. Many are on the verge of the kingdom, waiting only to gather in." - Acts of the Apostles, pg 109. Did you catch the thought? All over the world men and women are praying, looking wistfully to heaven, and are on the verge of the kingdom.
So, how does Jesus make Himself available to everyone? By being there when we pray! Well, what if someone is praying in Africa and another person in New York at the same exact time? Is Jesus there with both persons? Yes! How? His omnipresence! With Jesus there truly is no roaming charges. No missed calls. And His time with you is UNLIMITED!
