When I was a boy, my brother and I went to a soccer game in Cape Coral, FL. While we were there watching our cousin play his game, we got hungry and headed toward the concession stand to get some food. Since we were with our auntie, she went with us to the stand and paid for our lunch since we came to support her son. We both ordered pizza and to my shock and surprise his piece was bigger than mine!
I ate my piece very slowly hoping that my brother's huge piece would fill him up and he couldn't finish it, I was ready to offer my services to help my brother eat his remaining pizza. But alas, my younger brother had the stomach of a gorilla and ate his entire piece and had the audacity to ask if I was going to finish my piece! I was mad, not at my brother, but at the concession stand worker who obviously divided the pizza wrong!
When anything is divided wrongly it leaves the person with the short end feeling as if there should be something more. I realize that no one should live their lives with the should've, could've, and didn't, but what if the person that feels that way is not us, but God? What if having our hearts divided leads the heart of God to yearn for something more? What if God's desire for our lives is for our hearts to be completely His and not divided between Him and whatever is taking place in our hearts?
There is no what if. God does not desire a divided heart from His children. He desires, "My son, give me your heart. Let your eyes find happiness in my ways." Proverbs 23:26, GWT. God can't force any person to give anything. Well . . . He can, He's God, but He doesn't force a person to do anything. He invites, woos, encourages, and moves the human heart through the presence of the Holy Spirit to take a different path than what they are currently on.
This Sabbath may your heart not be divided. May you find that the greatest joy you can experience here on this earth is to give God the greatest gift you can offer Him, YOUR UNDIVIDED HEART!
May you find the joy that comes with following the Master Jesus with all your mind, heart, and soul! May you finally understand that life is best lived when following the will of the Master!
So, until the next time, this is Pastor Tello reminding you that thoughts do change lives!
