Thanksgiving! A holiday that isn’t ruined by commercialism and capitalism. A holiday where we get to reminisce on all the things we are thankful for. It’s been quite a year. And even though it has been tough at times, we can be grateful that God has gotten us through this far. In fact, if you are reading this, you know you are still alive! Since that is your reality, you have something to be thankful for!
Your life is the greatest gift you can offer to someone you love. You don’t believe it? What you contribute to the human species is a miracle that cannot be explained by evolution. It can only be explained by a God who says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness” (Jer. 31:3, NLT).
When was the last time you meditated on this love God has for you? Has it been a while? When human beings feel loved, they are willing to do anything for the those who love them. I know that to be true of my wife. I know that she loves me; therefore, there is nothing that I’m not willing to do for her—even go camping or hiking with her!
Being loved moves the human heart. Knowing that you are loved by the God of heaven transforms the human existence from a mundane reality to an energized life for good. May you take time this November to be thankful. You are loved—by God. May you realize that your life is the greatest gift you can give to someone you love. You are truly a blessing!
