The Impact of the Holy Spirit

It's that time of the year! From the time of the resurrection of Jesus until the day of Pentecost is 50 days. According to the book of Acts it tells us, "When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them." Acts 2:1-3, NIV. The emphasis on the Holy Spirit was prophesied. The fulfillment of that prophecy was lived in the first century of the Christian movement.

As Christians living in the 21st century, we continue that celebration of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Why? Why not? What impact does the Holy Spirit have on our lives? While the Bible is filled with many references to the work of the Spirit in our lives, on thing is true . . . you are here today because God's Spirit has drawn you here!

It's Sabbath. It's incredible outside. You could be doing so many different things with your time, but you are here. God has drawn you here to hear His Word, to feel His presence, and to know that you are loved by the Almighty God of the universe. As the Spirit of God moves upon your heart, when you allow it . . . He will transform your entire human existence.

I have seen lives changed by the Word of God. I have experienced lives moved by the preaching of a charismatic pastor. I have witnessed impossible situations that shouldn't have taken place. What I have seen, experienced and witnessed are the workings of a God that is intimately interested in our lives. The Holy Spirit wants to do something in you today.

May you this day allow the Holy Spirit to move you, inspire you, change you, prepare you, transform you. May you, this Sabbath day, find that you were drawn here by God!

So, until the next time this is Pastor Tello reminding you that thoughts do change lives!
