The Power Team

Have you ever heard this statement, "God didn't call me to be important, He called me to be faithful." Or how about this one, "None of us is as smart as all of us." No. Perhaps if I mention this name . . . The Power Team. Nothing Yet? What about the name of John Jacobs? Still nothing? Being a Seventh-day Adventist has many advantages. However, if you've never heard of the Power Team, you've missed out!

In the early 90s my brother and I were invited by a friend of ours to his church on a Sunday night. having never graced the inside of a non-Catholic church, my brother and I were anticipating . . . well, we weren't sure what. Our friend shared with us that the Power Team was coming to his church. I had no idea who the Power Team was, however, I was intrigued by the prospect.

The night came and we were greeted with a platform full of . . . well . . . stuff. There were chains, bars, ice, hammers, and all sorts of stuff you would find in a barn. Curious as to what type of church service this was, we heard the entry soundtrack of the Power Team. From the side of the platform came about 5 or 6 huge body builders who looked like they had eaten a house!

As they shared their superhuman strength, they broke chains, bent bars with their teeth broke ice with their heads and other feats of human strength. They ultimately shared with the audience how none of that strength can compare to the strength of God in one's life. The massive human taking a thick chain in his arms and breaking it as if it was made of paper left a lasting impression on my mind.

This Sabbath, we don't have the Power Team visiting the Milton Adventist church, but we have another minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ who will share with us the power of God in breaking all types of chains! After realizing last Sabbath what God wants to do IN you, and you ALLOWING God to do just that . . . we can now appreciate what the Lord's servant will bring to us today.

May God help you realize that with His power in your life . . . all chains can be broken!

So, until the next time this is Pastor Tello, reminding you that thoughts do change lives!
